By adding Synapse ("the Bot", "we", "us", or "our") to your Discord server or using any of its features, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not add or interact with the Bot.
1. Acceptable use and restrictions
By using the Bot, you agree not to:
- Abuse or exploit: attempt to exploit bugs, glitch features, bypass command rate limits, or perform denial-of-service (DoS) attacks against the Bot.
- Violate Discord policies: use the Bot to break Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines.
- Illegal activity: use the Bot for fraudulent, malicious, illegal, or harassing behaviour.
- Reverse engineer: decompile, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract source code unless explicitly permitted under an open-source licence.
- Automate interactions: use self-bots or automated scripts to trigger Bot commands or abuse Bot features.
2. Server administrator responsibilities
If you add the Bot to a Discord server where you have administrative permissions, you agree that:
- You are responsible for configuring permissions properly to avoid misuse within your server.
- You will ensure your server members abide by these Terms when interacting with the Bot.
- You acknowledge that removing the Bot will disable its services for your server.
3. Availability and modifications
- Service availability: we strive to keep the Bot online, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, updates, or hosting outages may occur.
- Feature changes: we may modify, add, or remove features, or discontinue the Bot, subject to applicable law.
4. Termination and access restrictions
We may restrict access to the Bot for a user or Discord server where reasonably necessary, including in response to a violation of these Terms, abuse or harassment, or suspected automated abuse or API spamming.
5. Disclaimer of warranties
The Bot is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by applicable law. We do not guarantee that the Bot will meet your specific requirements, be uninterrupted, or remain error-free.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Bot's developers, operators, and owners shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from use of or inability to use the Bot, unauthorised access to or alteration of server settings or data, or actions taken by server administrators or members using the Bot. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
7. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version and its effective date will be published on this page. Where required by law, we will give notice of material changes. Continued use of the Bot after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
